Gila Baca Buku

Gara2 beli buku "kok putusin gue", udah sebulan lebih ini gw keranjingan beli buku2 novel plus gila baca juga. Secara tiba2, dlm waktu sebulan lebih buku koleksi gw meningkat tajam jumlahnya. Huebat...benar2 sebuah prestasi. Hal ini terjadi selain krn terpancing oleh buku karangan Ninit Yunita itu, disebabkan juga karena gw punya prinsip baru yaitu "Buku adalah investasi". Jd belilah buku sebanyak mungkin walaupun tdk bs lgsg dibaca saat itu juga. Suatu saat dia bisa dibaca kapan saja, dan bs diwariskan untuk anak & cucu di masa mendatang. Waw, ga gw bgt tuh...hehehe...setidaknya sekarang ternyata begitu kenyataannya...

Sebenernya waktu hr Minggu kmrn, gw pngn beli bnyk buku tp dana terbatas. Jd hrs pintar2 memilah2 buku yg mana yg asik dan urgent dibeli & urgent dibaca. Btw list buku2 gw yg belom terbeli msh cukup bnyk lho.
Bener bgt lho. Budaya gemar membaca emang hrs digalakkan. Caranya adalah dgn mulai membaca buku yg paling km sukai & ga perlu bacaan yg berat. Yg penting km suka, menarik and ga perlu tebel2 juga bukunya.

The Cronicles of Narnia: The Magician's Nephew

Digory and Polly discover a secret passage that links their houses, and are tricked into vanishing out of this world and into the World of Charn, where they wake up the evil Queen Jadis. There, they witness the creation of the Land of Narnia, as it is sung into being by the Great Lion, Aslan.
Narnia already existed through The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, because C.S. Lewis actually wrote that book first. What he had to do in The Magician's Nephew was to explain the story behind the story and to fill in some of the gaps. Why was there a lamp-post in Narnia? Where did the White Witch come from? And why were there Talking Animals like Mr. and Mrs. Beaver? And, most important of all, how did the comings and goings between our world and the land of Narnia first begin?
Many years ago, two children called Polly Plummer and Digory Kirke become friends because they happen to be living next door to each other in London. Digory is staying with his uncle and aunt because his father is working in India and his mother is very ill. Unfortunately for Digory, his uncle is both evil and weak. He is also a magician ...
... the very first thing Uncle Andrew did was to walk across to the door of the room, shut it and turn the key in the lock. Then he turned round, fixed the children with his bright eyes, and smiled, showing all his teeth.
"I am delighted to see you," he said. "Two children are just what I
wanted ..."
Terrifyingly, Uncle Andrew wants to experiment with magic but he hasn't the courage to try it on himself. The children are tricked into taking part and even though they are much braver and more sensible than he is, they are quite unprepared for what happens next.
The story leads the reader into the Wood between the Worlds.
The trees grew close together and were so leafy that Digory could get no glimpse of the sky. All the light was green light that came through the leaves; but there must have been a very strong sun overhead, for this green daylight was bright and warm. It was the quietest wood you could imagine and you could almost feel the trees growing.
This is the gateway to many different kinds of worlds, from the desolate Charn where Queen Jadis once ruled through fear and cruelty, to a world not yet created. It is here that Digory and Polly meet Aslan for the first time and Aslan begins the wonderful song of creation which brings about the dawn of the first day in Narnia.
If you read on you will discover how Queen Jadis (who later becomes the White Witch) escapes from Charn; how the very first King and Queen of Narnia are chosen; and how Digory is almost tempted by Jadis to steal the Apple of Life. The book also tells how a very famous wardrobe came to be made and why, many years later, four other children could slip through the "chinks and chasms" between our world and the land of Narnia!

Tiga orang tinggal dlm satu rumah, 3 karakter, beda gender, beda usia, beda pekerjaan and beda interest. Sebut aja mereka Bigbro, Bigsis & Lilsis. Bigbro berumur late 20's, Bigsis middle 20's and Lilsis early 20's. Biarpun lebih banyak perbedaannya, tapi mereka semua punya satu kesamaan yaitu "keras kepala". Dalam perbedaan terdapat satu kesatuan di dalamnya.
Bigbro. Seorang engineer namun punya watak bisnis yang cukup kuat. Semua hal bisa dijadikannya peluang untuk berbisnis. Punya orientasi kuat dalam segala hal. Dulu sempat kena korban "mati gaya" tp berkat jasa-jasa Bigsis&Lilsis dia akhirnya bisa keluar dr situ. Kembali ke hal bisnisnya. Salah satu cara yg dia tempuh untuk mempromosikan bisnisnya adalah melalui blognya.
Emang sih msh bs dihitung sebagai pemula. Tp it's ok kok, isinya jg menarik. Isinya ga berhubungan dgn bisnisnya selalu tp tentang keseharian pekerjaannya.
Bigsis. Karirnya diawali di bidang akuntansi dan sekarang udah jd teller di salah satu bank di jakarta. Bigsis punya selera yang ok banget soal style. Good taste for clothing. Makanya ga salah deh kalo ngajak dia buat berbelanja. Udah pasti pilihannya cocok ama Bigbro&Lilsis. Dia juga berperan besar dalam hal menyelamatkan Bigbro dr penyakit "mati gaya". Bigsis ini lumayan "talkative" apa lagi ama keluarga. Sekilas pendiam, sekejab tenang, selanjutnya mengaum....
Lilsis. Seorang engineer jg spt Bigbro tp lebih memilih bidang engineer yg berada di belakang meja. Lebih "galak" dibanding yang lain, lebih keras kepala tp lebih.... (apa ya...?) kayaknya utk hal ini sulit untuk digambarkan..
Ketiganya... klo ud ketemu paling asik cerita macem2. Tentang kerjaan, baju, interior rumah, bikin blog yg bagus, film yg oke, jalan2 ke mall bertiga. Trus belanja kebutuhan rumah and ksh oleh2 buat mama&papa.
Ketiganya... sama2 keras kepala, ga mau ngalah, klo marah senengnya teriak-teriak. Di luar terlihat "cool" tp klo ud marah bakal jd "on fire".

HARRY yang di tahun keenamnya di Hogwarts diangkat jadi kapten tim Quidditch Gryffindor heran sekali, mendadak Quidditch jadi sangat populer. Banyak sekali anak yang mendaftar ingin masuk tim, bahkan sampai ada anak-anak Hufflepuff dan Ravenclaw yang menyelundup. Tetapi, seperti kata Hermione,
"Bukan Quidditch yang ngetop, tapi kau! Kau belum pernah semenarik ini, dan jujur saja, kau belum pernah sekeren ini.
"...Seluruh dunia sihir harus mengakui kau benar soal Voldemort telah kembali dan bahwa kau telah menghadapinya dua kali dalam dua tahun terakhir ini dan berhasil selamat dalam dua-duanya. Dan sekarang mereka menyebutmu 'Sang Terpilih' ---nah, coba, tidak bisakah kau melihat kenapa orang terpesona olehmu?"
Pantas saja gadis-gadis sampai nekat mau memberikan ramuan cinta kepada Harry. Namun Harry tidak memusingkan semua ini. Hanya ada satu gadis yang memenuhi pikirannya. Lagi pula dia sangat sibuk. Tahun ini Dumbledore memberinya pelajaran privat. Mempersiapkannya menghadapi musuh bebuyutannya, Lord Voldemort. Seperti dikatakan Ron, Dumbledore pasti tak akan membuang-buang waktu memberinya pelajaran kalau dia menganggap Harry pecundang---dia pasti berpendapat Harry punya peluang!
Harry mengira cita-citanya untuk menjadi Auror telah kandas, karena nilai Ramuan-nya tidak mencukupi. Namun dia keliru. Tahun ini Snape tidak lagi mengajar Ramuan, dan Harry menjadi yang paling pintar dalam kelas Ramuan---berkat bantuan Pangeran Berdarah-Campuran!

Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy find their way through an old wardrobe into the world of Narnia. There, they unite with Aslan to fight the White Witch and save Narnia from perpetual Darkness.
Four children, Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy Pevensie, are sent into the country to live with Professor Kirke because of the air-raids on wartime London. On their first morning, it pours with rain and they play hide-and-seek indoors. Lucy scrambles inside an old wardrobe full of coats, only to find:
... that what was rubbing against her face and hands was no longer soft fur but something hard and rough and even prickly.
"Why, it is just like the branches of trees!" exclaimed Lucy. And then she saw that there was a light ahead of her; not a few inches away from where the back of the wardrobe ought to have been, but a long way off. Something cold and soft was falling on her. A moment later she found that she was standing in the middle of a wood at night-time with snow under her feet and snowflakes falling through the air ...
Lucy is in Narnia, but the country is in the grip of the White Witch's spells and it is always winter. The Witch had come into Narnia many years before, and there is only one way in which her evil magic can be overthrown. It has been foretold that her reign will end when two Sons of Adam and two Daughters of Eve sit on the four thrones at the castle of Cair Paravel. So the Witch has made sure that anyone who sees a human in Narnia will tell her straight away - or be turned into stone.
Lucy narrowly escapes being trapped, and slips back through the wardrobe, scared, excited, and not a little bewildered to find that her adventures have taken no time at all in her own world. Not surprisingly, her brothers and sisters don't believe her story, especially as the wardrobe remains obstinately a wardrobe! Narnian magic is not like a light switch: you cannot turn it off and on at will.
However, the children do go back into Narnia when they least expect it and find everything just as Lucy described - only perhaps more real and more frightening. The kindly Mr. and Mrs. Beaver keep them safe from the White Witch's secret police - but there is a traitor in their midst and the four children soon discover that only Aslan can protect them from the terrifying danger that threatens to destroy them all ...

Mabol (main bola) elektro diadain tgl 10 dec 05 kmrn di lapangan F Senayan. Acara ini hasil ide dr alumni2 angkatan tua yang kebetulan lg kangen2nya pngn ketemuan plus skalian butuh olahraga. Awalnya acara ini mau diadan jam 6 pagi, tp udah pasti ga ada yg sangguplah bgn sepagi itu. Akhirnya acara diundur jd jam 8 pg.
Penyumbang utama acara ini adalah org yg bela2in bayarin seluruh biaya sewa lapangan, sayangnya gw lupa namanya siapa. Klo ga salah dia termasuk angkatan 92 deh--tp ga tau jg abis lupa sih. Seksi sibuknya sendiri adalah Metha e'92 yang katanya merupakan mantan ketua IME tahun 95 (berdasarkan kesaksian my big bro yg termasuk angktn 95). Trus, angktn tua lainnya yg sibuk malakin junior2nya, antara lain Mba Day e'89 & Pak Wah e'89. Untungnya gw ga kena--hahaha. Biarlah urusan keuangan dserahkan kpd senior2 yg lebih mapan untuk diminta keikhlasannya :p
Selama acara berlangsung, diadain 2 kali pertandingan antara angakatan "Tua" dan angkatan "Muda". Kriteria angktn muda adalah angktan 95 kebawah, sedangkan angktn tua sebaliknya. Oleh karena adanya perbedaan umur yg cukup besar antara kedua kubu tsb maka sudah jlslah siapa yg menang, ofcourse the Young generation lah..... Yang dtg ga cuma org2 yg main bola aja tp ada jg yg hanya sekedar nonton dan ketemuan dgn yg lain. Contohnya adalah "saya" sendiri. Yang hanya berperan sebagai petugas registrasi & bantu2 soal makanan. Konsumsi disini free for all lho. Makanya org2 pada ganas2 smua--emang demen gratisan seeeh...
Apalg ya yg blom gw ceritain. Oia, ce2 2000 yg dtg kebetulan hanya gw &Dian. Ga masalah cm berdua aja, kita ttp enjoy kok. Malah kita bs kenal alumni2 yg taun "jebot".

Konser "Yang Terbaik Bagimu"

Setelah dalam seminggu persiapan memilah-milih lagu berlangsung, serta dengan dua kali latihan. Akhirnya tanggal 3 Desember 2005 tepatnya midnight, str00m berhasil manggung dengan sangat gemilang. Salah satu lagu yang dinyanyikan adalah "Yang terbaik bagimu/jangan lupakan ayah" dari ADAband. Lagu ini dibawain sama Hendro sebagai male vocal and myself *ehem..ehem as the female vocal plus backing vocal yg ga sempat pernah latihan sebelumnya (onyay, dian & adu).
Secara teknis lagu ini cukup sulit karena karakter suara vokalis ADA yang cukup khas *suaranya berat bgt, dipadu dengan suara Gita Gutawa yg tinggiiii abiz. Alhasil aransemen yg diambil oleh para musician str00m adalah dengan menurunkan nada aslinya. Ketika perform lagu ini, Hendro lumayan ok walaupun temponya jd lebih lambat. Sedangkan waktu bagian gw nyanyi malah sember, gara2 suara ud cukup abis akibat nyanyi lagu2 sebelumnya. Sehingga waktu manggung, di baris pertama lagu, gw ga kuat ngambil nada tinggi jdnya "falz" *ampyuuuunnn memalukan... Tapi Alhamdulillah temen2 backing vocal pd teriak "Ga pa-pa....!" Hahahaha...rasa percaya diri gw malah jd tambah bukannya surut.... Berkat dukungan temen2 itu pula, gw bisa ngelanjutin lagunya sampai abis dengan bagus *cuit...cuit...
Malam itu emang bener2 puas deh, secara garis besar penampilan stroom setelah setahun yg lalu terkahir manggung ternyata tetap menarik para penggemarnya terutama angkatan 2002&2003. Pelajaran bwt gw malem itu adalah, hrs sering2 latihan vocal & pernapasan and jgn kbnykn mkn gorengan terutama menjelang tampil (hihihihi, sok penyanyi profesional bgt seeeh...). Dengan suksesnya penampilan stroom, ga sabar deh utk tampil lagi tahun depan.... Mudah2an aja tahun depan masih bs lagi kyk kmrn bahkan bisa lebih baik lagi, amiiiin....
